August and I in the studio
Here's a little footage of August and I working on a song we're calling "Jealous Girl".
Alright so I've heard from so many of my guy friends that they don't like a jealous girl... reality check - EVERYONE GETS JEALOUS! LOL. It's human nature people. However, I do agree that there is a certain way to handle it. Flipping out on someone is only gonna give you that "crazy girl" or "crazy guy" title. Whatever your situation might be, just handle it with maturity and you're good. I've heard some crazy a** stories about people doing things like going through their partners phones and wallets and drawers. I figure if you gotta do all that, there's no trust and the relationship is probably dead anyway. If that's the case, move on and stop holding up traffic. It's ok to get jealous from time to time as it's only natural when you care that much about someone. But don't take it to that crazy level people.

Got a hater?
Any of you ever have a hater? Well my girl called me today almost in tears because of someone that was hating on her. She asked me how I deal with things like that and if I had any advice for her. At first, I was giving her the usual "don't worry about it", "pay no attention to that junk", and "it will make you stronger". And then I thought about an email that a friend of mine had sent to me when I was "getting hated on" and I thought I'd share it with all of you. If you have a hater and are feeling crummy about it, I hope this helps!!!

A hater is someone who is jealous and envious and spends all their time trying to make you look small so they can look tall.
They are very negative people to say the least. Nothing is ever good enough! When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters...
That's why you have to be careful with whom you share your blessings and your dreams, because some folk can't handle seeing you blessed... It's dangerous to be like somebody else... If God wanted you to be like somebody else, He would have given you what He gave them! Right?
You never know what people have gone through to get what they have... The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don't know my story... If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, you can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too!
We've all got some haters among us! Some people envy you because you can:
a) Have a relationship with God
b) Light up a room when you walk in
c) Start your own business
d) Tell a man/woman to hit the curb (if he/she isn't about the right thing)
e) Raise your children without both parents being in the home
Haters can't stand to see you happy. Haters will never want to see you succeed. Most of our haters are people who are supposed to be on our side.
How do you handle your undercover haters? You can handle these haters by:
1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are *(VERY IMPORTANT!!)
2. Having a purpose to your life: Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be unfulfilled. A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be. Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you.
3. By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not human manipulation.
Fulfill your dreams! You only have one life to live...when its your time to leave this earth, you want to be able to say, 'I've lived my life and fulfilled my dreams, Now I'm ready to go HOME!
When God gives you favor, you can tell your haters, 'Don't look at me...Look at who is in charge of me...' Pass this to all of your family & friends who you know are not hating on you including the person who sent it to you. If you don't get it back, maybe you called somebody out!

What not to drink when wearing white!
Ok so how many of you out there have decided to wear white and messed it up with some kind of spillage? Well.. that's what happened to me this morning. I had a little bit of time to kill, saw a Starbucks and decided that I'd get a hot chocolate. "Why" you ask (considering that it's summer)? No idea... just felt for it and ended up regretting it. I normally don't wear a lot of white, but decided that in the spirit of summer, I'd go all out and wear a white tank top and a white jacket (was a lil nippy). Since I was going to meet my girl, I thought I'd pick up a coffee for her too. So now we have a coffee, hot chocolate and 2 articles of white clothing.. you see where this is going, right?
Anyway, to make a long story short, I was a good distance away from home so I ended up having to buy a new bra, tank top, and jacket.
Sooooo the lesson of the day for me is to pretty much only drink water when I'm wearing white (which probably won't happen for another few week).

Michael Jackson
So it's been a few days and I know that EVERYONE has blogged about MJ, but I can't post anything else without paying my respects to one of the most influential artists of all time.
I still can't believe that he's really gone. I've loved Michael Jackson since I knew what music was. For any of you that have known me for years, you would know that I had a mild obsession with him. LOL. If fact, for my grade 8 year book, I was asked to write down what my dream for the future was and I wrote "to heal the world". LOL.
It's amazing to see how one person was able to influence millions of people worldwide! Michael Jackson will be missed but his music will live on forever!

Transformers
Alright, so I saw the new Transformers movie and I was impressed. The only complaint I had was that it was a wee bit too long. Aside from that, I'd recommend it.
Now you can always count on a woman to talk about everything else except for the movie itself (lol)... so here goes...
As I was watching, I realized how much Megan Fox reminds me of a young Angelina Jolie
Come on, I can't be the only one to observe the similarities (eyes, lips... not to mention they're both gorgeous)!

Performance on Friday!
What's goin' on world? I hope everyone is doin' well. I know I am. Actually I'm super excited because I have a performance comin' up on Friday. I hope you all can make it cause it's gonna be DOPE!!! I'm attaching the flyer below with the details.
I was drivin' on the weekend and heard "Crush" on Flow 93.5 and thought I'd blog about what I was thinking. I had this overwhelming feeling of appreciation for the station and for every DJ out there that has ever played my music. Without them, most of you probably would've never heard the song by now. Jennifer Hudson - AMAZING!!!
I know it's about a month later, but Jennifer Hudson's performance at the Superbowl brought tears to my eyes - the first time I watched it and even now. I heard that there was a poll being taken to compare her performance and Whitney Houston's, however I never ended up finding out the results of that. Dirty Dancing
This is a must see!!!! I was so impressed with everything from the acting to the singing to the scene changes... it was incredible. Canadian Idol 3 winner, Melissa O'Neil was one of the lead vocalist in the show and let me tell you, I've never heard her like this before... this girl can SING!!!!
But the best part for me by far was the lead role of Frances "Baby" Houseman played by Ashley Leggat. She was absolutely phenomenal. This girl has some serious talent... she even sounded like the real Baby.
If any of you have to opportunity to check out this play, I would definitely urge you to do so... you won't be disappointed!

New photos
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was... interesting. To make a long story short, I got locked in a parking garage on Friday, got a chance to hang with 2 of my God-kids on Saturday, and performed my "jig" in a restaurant on Sunday (I'll post a video of my jig soon... lol).
I've also had a chance to work with some amazing photographers and I've recently added 2 more to that list.
